Mark Logue

Mark is best known in theatre for his work on We Will Rock You and in the live music world for his work with U2 and the Rolling Stones. He works across media both as a storyteller in moving images, and as a creator of exceptional visual content.

In theatre he works closely with the director and other designers as a full creative participant.  His production expertise enables him to establish and manage a video department to bring projects in on time and on budget, often additionally providing specialised support to the marketing and promotion teams.

Mark is fluent in English and French and speaks conversational Spanish.

SELECTED CREDITS
THEATRE

Mark brought projected video content in to the mainstream of West End theatre with his designs for We Will Rock You.  Selected credits include:

  • Directed video projection content for The Man Who, a play by Peter Brook directed by Jennie Scott at the Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond. (2005)
  • Designed digital scenery and additional projection content for Bat Boy the Musical in the West End, and at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.  In addition to the stage, Mark’s work included EPK production, and point of sale videos. (2004)
  • Director of visual content and digital scenery for Queen's We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre in London’s West End (2002); Mark then supervised all the video elements when the show opened in Las Vegas, Tokyo, Melbourne, Madrid, Cologne and elsewhere.  In addition to the stage Mark designed and edited video wall visuals for the appearance by the Cologne cast at the launch of the FIFA World Cup 2006 at Allianz Arena, Munich, and further customised video wall content for various television appearances.
  • Designed video sequences for the rock-oriented musical adaptation of Barbarella which opened in Vienna, Austria. (2004)
  • Filmed and edited the Michael Clark Dance Company performing at The Venue, Leicester Square. (2001)


LIVE MUSIC
Mark directs designs and edits large scale visuals for music tours and concerts.

  • Most notably, he has worked on the U2 Elevation (2001) and Vertigo (2005) tours and The Rolling Stones Forty Licks tour (2002). Other rock tours include Travis, Oasis, The Corrs, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Oxide & Neutrino, So Solid Crew, Melissa Etheridge, Darren Hayes, DJ Tiesto and Aerosmith.
  • Mark designed the roll call of victims of 9/11 projected onto the scrim during U2's 2002 NFL Superbowl interval performance.
  • He designed and edited video projection content for The Kronos Quartet’s "Sun Rings", violin quartet composed by Terry Riley. (2002)


SCREEN
Mark collaborates with artists, directors and designers in factual storytelling, and has edited and provided visual effects for a range of programming, commercials and music videos.  Highlights include:

  • Director: 4 Rotating Canvasses, a documentary on four artists: Paul McCarthy, George Condo, Jake Chapman and Dinos Chapman who collaborate on the production of four paintings over a period of six months. (2006)
  • Producer/director: At Home with the Colonel: Pilot episode of an experimental interview program with British artists Jake and Dinos Chapman which screened at the 14th Raindance festival. (2006)
  • Edited Intersection, a short documentary about female traffic police in Manhattan, for artist Catherine Owens (2001)
  • Mark has designed numerous promos, title sequences and on air graphics for television for clients such as MTV, Carlton, Box TV, Discovery, Channel 4, BBC and others.
  • Music videos include Saffron Hill, Earth, Wind and Fire (September remix), Plastic Dreams (Fuse), Boney M (Daddy Cool remix), Santos Camels and 3,2,1 fire
  • Commercials include online viral ads for Comic Relief – Red Nose Day, and for the launch of a French youth magazine called Mood, as well as numerous TV commercials for Virgin Records, Universal BMG, Sony Music and others.
